RSVP Now: Trash Talk – Guest Speakers

July 26 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: The Lodge
6:00 PM – HOW TO LEAVE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE: WHY SINGLE USE PLASTIC IS BAD AND HOW YOU CAN CHANGE IT

Join Dr. Kerri Hesley as she discusses single use culture in our country,  and the problems associated with it.  Learn about microplastics and the discovery of them in our environment and in our bodies!  Learn what we as individuals and as a community can do to impact this growing phenomenon and leave the world a better place for our children and grandchildren.

7:00 PM – Ever wonder what really happens to  the stuff you toss into a recycle bin?

Join Annmarie Creamer with Frederick County Division of Waste & Recycling to get all your questions answered by an expert from the Frederick County Division of Solid Waste and Recycling. Review what’s recyclable (it might be different from where you moved from), find out why some things just aren’t, and learn where all those things go after they get collected. Participants can bring items from home they may have questions about.

Special thank you to the Social Committee for arranging these speakers.
